Thomas Griffin letter : 1825.

This single item collection consists of a letter dated Yorktown, Virginia, June 6, 1825. The document was written to William Taylor of Shelby County, Kentucky, by Thomas Griffin. The letter was written in reply to Taylor's inquiry into the children of John Thurston, deceased. The letter continues on to discuss the lands of Cryus Griffin in Kentucky, which Thomas Griffin wished to purchase. He was using Taylor as his agent in the transaction.

William Berry Taylor was a lawyer and land speculator who migrated from Botetourt County, Virginia, to Shelby County, Kentucky, in the late eighteenth century. After migrating, Taylor continued to practice law in Virginia as well as Kentucky.
